CU engine cooling flaps

The last owner removed the cooling flaps and gubbings.

i can see the 2 holes where the flap bar should be but not guts.


How safe am i running without it and what bits do i need to stick em back in?

You definitely need them - have a look on JK to see what Laurie Petit (aka actyerage and one of the few VW engine gurus in case you don't know of him) says about it here

Makes the oil overheat!! maybe someting like my oil leak?
