1.6d (n/a) fuel pump small leak/drip

Post by bradcab »

Hi Peeps,

I have a weep/drip from the "throttle cable actuating arm spindle"

Know what I mean?

Its the jobby on the front of the fuel pump that the throttle cable connects to, and pivots, spins, what ever you wanna call it, when you put your foot down.

There seems to be fuel coming up through the spindle (as the top is dry) running off underneath the left hand side of the arm and dripping onto the nearest (front) injector and return lines.

Its been said that these pumps can't be over hauled but is this a know fault/problem?

Has ne one else suffered and cured the fault?

I have already removed the arm and spring and washer cleaned up and refitted tightened as much as seemed reasonable to do so and still weeps.

There is a small ammount of up and down play.

I'd attach a photo if only I knew how!

Ne ideas and sudgestions welcomed.

Thanks Muchly.
