Skimming Exhaust Manifold

Post by wookey »

I've found the exhaust manifold is corroded on no 4 port. causing a leak even with a fresh gasket.

So how much can I get skimmed off the face of the manifold. Looks like I need to cut about 2mm off it so that it seals correctly on the block again.. failing this.. anyone got a N/A diesel exhaust manifold.?? (wanted add posted just in case! )

take it to an engineering company, but most of the cost will be setting up, and as andy says its not a big job, probably only take 10 mins but setup would take twice that long. Any problems give us a shout.

if indeed it only needs 2mm off i would paste it (thats what the paste is designed for) and the pressure in there is not high as in like a head gasket cos its kinda blowing to an open end
