I have a 10-pin headlight switch connector (251 941 531T) on my 1991 1,6 TD Syncro, but the switch has stopped working. As far as I understand, the 10-pin switch is no longer available, only the earlier 8-pin version.
I was wondering if it's possible to convert to the 8-pin switch, and if so, what would be required. The connector that plugs into the switch is different, so I assume I would need to replace that as well.
I have a spare connector (251 971 999B) from a scrapped T3. Can I simply cut the wires and splice in the other connector, or is there anything else I need to change? Would I need to add a fuse anywhere?

Thanks for your reply and the video. Unfortunately the backpart on my switch that you're supposed to keep is so worn out that I can't get it working properly.
