Soo,
Got a scrapyard engine and gearbox for cheap by a local place, just because I really wanted the gearbox, carburetor and distributor, anyhow started digging in and found cyl 3 blown with a big hole in it.
Was thinking about getting a rebuild kit for it with cylinders, pistons and maybe heads and get it working as a spare engine.
Is there anything to look out for, do I need to flush the engine to properly get all the old pistons parts out somehow?
And while I’m at it is it necessary to split the case or is a top end enough?
The engine is a 1600CT
But I was thinking maybe getting a type 1 top end kit just because it’s alittle cheaper and more available, any thoughts on that?
Cheers
