Auto sleeper VX50 window mouldings

Post by Donnybri »

Hello all,
My T25 is in need of some bodywork repair and I’m in the process of removing bits of interior to see the extent of what’s needed.
Today I decided to remove one of the damaged fibre glass window surrounds because I want to fit some of the sliding curtains with top and bottom rails, and I didn’t expect to find what I did.
See the image below and the huge gap cut away all around the window that was covered by the moulding.
Is this from when it was originally converted or something that has been done later?
Has anyone else found this, and if so, what approach did you take?
Can the removed material be replaced? (Preferred option as that’s where the curtain rail is screwed to the bodywork)
If it’s impossible to replace, then are replacement mouldings available anywhere?

Thanks in anticipation
Brian

On looking again, I can see that the van was double skinned where the rear windows were cut out by auto sleeper.
That said, are mouldings my only option? And does anybody know if there are any replacements available anywhere?
The one removed is beyond repair.

Thanks again
Brian
