Making worrying noise when accelerating

This seems to be a summer of one thing after another. Right, I posted up an issue few months back with regard an issue with the engine breaking down under load. At the time I bought a second dixxy to see if it was the hall sender which it was and this got refurbed and seem to do the job. I haven't used it since as I've been trying to resolve another issue with diff lock. However, I took it out at the weekend and stated to here a rather worrying, what I can only discribe as, crackling metallic sound coming from beneath the vehicle. It's not present on turn over, or when I rev whilst dormant, but can be heard when accelerating especially up hill.

I have to stay I may have heard it when I first changed the dizzy over.

I guess you have a syncro? 
If its only when moving could be more like something to do with a worn CV or propshaft UJ? Maybe VC?? but the syncro lot might be able to assist more.
