water light flashing and temp gauge on max!!!

Post by joker »

I seem to have a problem with my 2.1!!!
The temp gauge went right up after a short drive and the water light was flashing but upon inspection the water level was fine and the engine is not over hot..
Its seems like a sensor problem as i turned on the egntion this morning with the engine cold and the same happened..
Has anybody else had this problem and which sensor do i need to change??
Any help would be pukka :D

I think the sensor is in the engine bay but not behind the hatch.
It could also be a bad connection.

Try the Multi conector under the dash just to the right of the steering column. Mine had a bad contact and did the same, I also got the buzzer of doom that is earthed so should not of gone off at all.
