Help confirming correct belt length - 1.6CS

Post by Gunter98 »

Hi,

Sorry for the basic question but this has been baking my head all afternoon. Current belts are as below:

A - 6283MC - which I believe is a Gates belt (thanks to the always helpful Brickwerks team), and thus 10x638 - so, wrong.
B - 10 x 625 currently - pretty slack (well over the 5mm spec) but no idea how old - but also possibly the wrong belt as well?

Alternator is the 65amp as far as I know. No PAS. So I think that A needs to be replaced with a 10 x 600 and the Alt dropped down a bit accordingly, but what should B be replaced with? If it's the 10 x 643 that is on the BW site, is that going to be very slack, or is there enough adjustment in the shims to sort that?

Thanks.

Damn it, didn't find that one in the search, for some reason. Cheers.

Guess I just need to order some shims with the belt.

Thanks.
