Faulty Fuel Gauge - Anyone Else Experiencing This?

Post by gluquestr »

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with their fuel gauge recently? Mine seems to be acting up - showing as almost empty even after a full tank. I've checked the sender unit connection, and it seems okay. Could it be a dodgy gauge, or something else I should be looking at? Any advice or experiences you can share would be much appreciated. Cheers!.

Have you tried the earth / ground wire from the gauge sender?

The ground wire is secured under the van with a self-tapping screw.
The screw and / or the wire can suffer badly from corrosion due to their location.

You may need to cut off the original ground eyelet and crimp on a new clean one.
Ensure the securing screw and the bodywork to which it is screwed are clean and secure.

Maybe one day I might get it finished
