good morning,new to the forum , so hope I have done this correctly
1980 2.0 litre Aircooled T25
my son has the above T25 and the odometer has stopped - I have researched this and dismantled the speedo unit to find the little gear wheel is awol (so I cannot even count the teeth)
there is no trip counter on the VDO speedo and when i spin the odometer spindle the numbers rotate smoothly
there are no circuit boards or anything electronic on the speedo , just the mechanical bits - there is 820 on the face under the MPH
i THINK it may be 16 teeth but don't really know
the worm spindle rotates smoothly when I drive the unit with a drill and the pointer is smooth
hopefully a new gear pushed on the odometer spindle will resurrect the counting
can anyone help please with the gear itself for me to push onto the spindle or the number of teeth I need to look for
