Hi guys
I've got a spare Westfalia front seat - it used to be on a swivel base.
Been thinking, is it possible to convert this into a buddy seat ?
Has anyone done this ?

Re: Buddyseat
Buddy seats don't normally take up a lot of room and usually fold up. A front seat will take up a fair bit of room and won't fold up. Not very practical IMO.

It could be used, the late Multivan buddy seat has parts from a front seat, look at part number 255887102 , this is the frame for the folding and removable buddy seat, your westy seat has a smaller seat foam base and could be used with the correct parts to make the buddy seat, it all depends how much you want to spend.

Cheers, I'll take a look.
It was really just an idea. A mate of mine has a late Westfalia Bluestar Multi-van, with a buddy seat (which he removes occasionally) and the size of it is the same as his front seats...it's what gave me the idea.
I've got the seat, it's the original passenger seat which has been living up in the loft for the last 9 years since I bought two reclaimed replacements from Westie Frank (Vanagon Vanagon) all those years ago.
Just wanted to see if I could make use of it or sell it on as its rare as.
If its easy and relatively cheap to convert, I'll do it...if not I'll put it up for sale.

You need the tilt mechanism, mounting bar, lever , base cover seatbelt and a few nuts n bolts , buddy seat come up fairly regularly for £100-200
