VWT3 2.1 fuel injection
Hello, after a long time at a standstill I am trying to get it running. When I manage to start it, after an indeterminate time, without stopping the engine, the accelerator stops working. Sometimes, after a while, the engine responds when I press the accelerator and the same thing happens again. When I press the accelerator it seems to choke but it doesn't stop, it's a strange idle. Please, can someone help me?

Hi! Have you checked that pressing the accelerator at that moment is actually moving the throttle in the engine bay? And how old is the fuel?
If I understand correctly all works fine at first. Does the change correlate with the engine warming up?

Sticking AFM flap?
Sticking idle switch?
Bad earth connection on LHS head (changes with temperature).
I'd say check those first and report back.
E D I T: Oh, and which 2.1? DJ, MV and SS will all warrant slightly different approaches to diagnostics.
