Propex X1 fitting advice
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction to fit a Propex X1.
So managed to get hold of a working Propex X1. Just unsure of fitting it.
So it's going in the heater cupboard/drying cupboard in my 1985 Devon Eurovette.
The gas piping is all there, so is the thermostat ( was from a Compact 1600) pretty sure it's the same one as the X1 would have had ( that's after going through the Propex website),.so as for those parts, seems all good so far.
The van has two air outlets, one under the R&R bed, so comes out into the main cabin and the other one comes out in the shelving unit at the back.
In the cupboard, there's one hole cut through the floor (for air intake for combustion?) and two Flexi pipes at the back of the cupboard, one goes to the air outlet and the other is a metal (?) flexi pipe that goes through to the exhaust system!
So, now can I fit the heater to the existing set up?
Will post some pictures tomorrow to help with the advice.

So my thinking is this, the air outlet connects to the pipe on the left and the exhaust should? connect to the other pipe? Remove the bit of metal that the air intake goes through? Then connect the wiring and gas and it should work?

It's all in the fitting instructions tbh. Very straight forward
But l cannot clearly see how the box fits in your photos.
Mount heater box to chassis.
Both heater exhaust and clean inlet air pipes should exit to outside of van. And once happy all running properly should be sealed at body work with high temp silicone.
Exhaust to the van body edge using
correct P clamps and on a gradual downward slope to prevent moisture puddling inside pipe.
Clean combustion air pipe clamps somewhere under van with exit pointing to rear. Again pointing slightly down at exit point.
Both pipes should be of same lengths.
I would fit a gas cut out valve somewhere within easy access away from heater. So if there is a problem with heater it can be isolated.
Power from leisure battery to controller. Wire heater to controller.
Attach gas pipe and check for leaks at every join with soapy water before attempting fire up.
But l cannot clearly see how the box fits in your photos.

As an afterthought. I would connect gas and check before attempting any wiring. Disconnected both batteries during install.

Thanks for the advice Stu.
So have tried to show what is what on the picture.
So Red ndicates warm air out.
Green is where the only hole in the chassis is(just need to remove the metal plate)
Yellow is exhaust.
As for a isolation valve, already installed along with ones for the cooker, gas burners, fridge.
Hopefully that will give a clear picture of where the heater is going to fit
So have tried to show what is what on the picture.

Going with the information here The Propex Hotbox (or X1) was fitted as standard to the Eurovette.

I would do a dummy run outside of camper first.
Remove controller and wire heater according to fitting PDF. Also add a fuse (5amp?) on the live side and attach to a battery to see if it runs on cold air setting.
If okay, add gas and switch to heat on full dial setting and see if it ignites.
Make sure the battery is fully charged first. Needs min about 12. 2 volts when running heater.

Yellow cannot be exhaust - no way would a hot exhaust run through wood like that. As I have said before, I don't think that you have the ability to carry out this fitment safely - you are not comprehending the risks involved.

Not sure what I have done to upset you, for some reason you seem to be making judgements about my ability to do this, again unsure where you have got that information from or why you have such an issue with me and my questions?
I was under the impression that this forum was for asking questions and getting advice, so perhaps I'm wrong on that as well now?
As I don't know what that pipe is and how it's positioned I guessed it was for an exhaust, so still unsure of why you want to question my ability.
As for the risks? I thought as I was connecting gas, I would be having a flame around to check it's gas!

My information comes from your picture post showing the exhaust position. That was not a question, it was a fact.
You have not upset me but the half-arsed way that you are going about this can lead to tragedy. If you are thinking that a hot exhaust can safely pass through wood without creating a conflagration go ahead and burn your van down.
Your responses show your lack of comprehension of risks. If one such as the exhaust position is drawn to your attention all you do is get on your high horse and bleat about me being upset for pointing out your failings.
I am not upset just trying to save you and your van from your proposed fitting.
Go ahead and burn your van by not listening. I don't care to save you from yourself anymore and I will not contribute to a wreath for your funeral.
