Definitely sounds like a filter problem originally anyway, I had the same symptoms before. You do need to prime a new filter like Oldie said. You can get a primer pump in Screwfix if you need one or if your really stuck suck the fuel through on the return side of the filter (had to do this on the Cork Killarney road in the dark one evening, not a great experience) and it should work.
If your not getting any glow lamp lights, check on the far side of the glow plugs, they are all connected with a metal strip,https://brickwerks.co.uk/product/glow-p ... di-diesel/ , and then there is a cable at the end of that so the current can flow to all the plugs. That cable can break which means there is no current going to the glow plugs, straight forward fix as well.

Problems again, relay replaced, fuel filter replaced, fuel lines replaced.
It runs, but has no power, it will idle away, any increase of the accelerator it will die.
so is my fuel pump fecked? Possible crap pulled in from the tank? Can I pull this off and clean out myself or better off to replace too.

Possibly air in the system, as you've replaced all the lines and filter. If you haven't already, with it idling, loosen one of the pipes to the injectors (don't take it off just crack it open) you should get a steady stream of fuel, when you do, tighten the pipe again. Should only need to do one to bleed the air off.

Ok, not been at the van for a while, due to work commitments.
Does anyone have a diagram for the fuel pump, going to take it out.
Any Haynes manuals are for a petrol engine as far as I can see.
Thanks

Before pulling the pump I'd rule out possible fuel supply issues and make sure all air is out of the system too. Did you replace fuel line from the tank through to the filter? Maybe letting air in if old/degraded. If you pull pipe off tank outlet do you get a steady flow of diesel, maybe if/when it ran low some crud has blocked the outlet restricting flow.
How did you prime the system/pump after changing everything? Might be worth installing a primer bulb in the fuel line between the filter and pump, Euro Car Parts do them (universal diesel primer bulb) and pull fuel through to the pump that way. They have a one way valve in them so only allow fuel to flow in one direction which also helps wiih a worn pump that suffers fuel drain back
Most of the time, cracking open one injector is enough to clear any air pretty quickly but if there's a lot in the pump it'll struggle to work, persevere one injector at a time and hopefully it'll sort out the issue

Double check the fuel filter. I have found it to be be a real pain to get the pipework airtight. Especially the ones with the thermo valve. Even had a new tank fitted because of air bubbles after thinking it couldn't be the filter!

Thanks again to all and your advice.
Van is running with a homemade fuel pump, now to fit a in-line 12v pump, would the following be suitable;
