Oil Pressure Nightmare.?

Post by johnston »

I have a 1987 1.9 water cooled V.W. The mechanic has just fitted another engine which has turned out to be a 1982 1.9 water cooled engine. The problem I have is that the 1982 engine only has one oil pressure switch fitted to warn of a oil pressure problem on the dash, The issue is the 1987 has two oil pressure switches, can the 1987 wiring be modified to work the oil warning dash light for the 1982.? if so does anyone have a wiring diagram I can use to sort this nightmare out.
Thanks in advance.

Just earth out the second switch on engine block and forget about it.
There are loads of people driving around in pre buzzer of doom vans.

Blue to .3 bar between pushrods.
Yellow to .9 bar by waterpump. Earth this to engine block.
