Bell housing oil leak

My van DJ engine, has a small oil leak from the bell housing, some of which must burn away on the exhaust. The only evidence is a small drip on the central exhaust bracket but there are no marks on the driveway. The oil must be coming from the engine as the oil is dirty and the I know the gearbox oil is clear. There is very little affect on the the dipstick oil level. Is there anywhere else it could be coming from? No affect on the clutch- yet.  I think it must be the rear (front of van) oil seal behind the flywheel as a few years ago a shim came out and cut the rear seal and scored the flywheel, but not badly.
Has anyone on the forum used a "Speedisleeve" on a flywheel? Was it successful? If it works does anyone know what size is required for a DJ engine flywheel?
I'd like to get everything sorted before starting the job as I will be using the local garage's lift to take the gearbox out.

My guess would be the crank seal (flywheel) but if there's a groove worn in the flywheel it will never seal.

I had this a while ago but a new flywheel and seal cured it.

Thanks shepster for your information. I have been quite surprised that nobody has used a speedisleeve to repair their flywheel but I have decided to fork out the money and buy a new flywheel anyway.
The only problem is that the shims for the flywheel end-play are like hen's teeth! I have obtained a couple of the sizes but does anybody know where I can obtain some from? Is there anybody on this site who would lend me some for a deposit? Preferably someone near Stafford in the midlands? Without testing the end float of the new flywheel I don't know what thickness I am going to need. OD is 75.5mm and ID is 58.5mm.
I have done quite a bit of reading up about doing this job and GoWesty seem to say that the shim retainer is not really needed as long as you make sure the thrust washer is in place, is that correct? Is it included in the earlier engines? I am a bit worried that the people who rebuilt the engine a few thousand miles ago may have left it out!
I hope someone can help me out.

You might not even need new shims, unless you've checked your endfloat and its out of spec.. but if thats the case you're only gonna be hiding whats going on. you can sleeve the flywheel if its got a groove in it, lots of people have done it. Pretty sure its the same size sleeve for either the 1.9 or 2.1.

The shim retainer is not required really but if you have one might as well slap it on.

I have some shims you can use. All .32mm though.

As stated above you may not need any, I didn't.

Check the end float with the original ones first.

Brickwerks used to stock them but limited sizes.
