fitting a peugeot 1.9 td engine (xud)

Post by aussie »

Hi Guys and Gals

I love my t25 camper but the 2lt Aircooled engine has to go. I am about to make my own bio diesel and want to replace the engine with a Peugeot 1.9 TD XUD variant. This engine will burn less fuel and it wll be made from a waste oil therefore a smaller net carbon contribution. Does anyone know who can do the engine replacement. I am based near Plymouth and aim to get a fully working vehicle and get the engine out of it .
Help me be fossil fuel free.
Aussie

I know there is some stuff in the wiki but i would like to know who could fit this engine.

Interesting project...are you planning on making real biodiesel or a cooking oil jobbie?

XUD's with Lucas pumps can suffer so you might be best off looking for a Bosch version.

Lots of info on www.pug306.net if you're interested :)

thanks for your input i have not looked that site. Making proper biodiesel with a reactor the full transesterfrication process. Yep a bosch pump is the one i want, will run the donnor car on bio before i transplant the engine .
