Quality rubbers for gear selector

Post by rollercoaster »

I'm procrastinating over buying some new rubbers,
my last ones, .. didnt last.

Not seemingly able to get VW ones,
well possibly one or two but mostly aftermarket.

Can anyone enlighten me, what are the quality items?

Its all the bellowsy bits around the gearbox I need.

Bricky have the two long lower bellows, genuine, in stock.

been out of stock of the "ball linkage cover"
251 711 167 E    for a while now

and between the lever and the box is an aftermarket copy,
..mine has survived so far, easy life?

Question is when going aftermarket, where to go?
Thanks

251711167E genuine Repro quality from Brickwerks will be on the next delivery from VWClassicParts, sorry I bought most of the last delivery
The selector shaft boot the old ones from JP Group were okay as you have found, the newer repro ones from Forst aren't as good I have found, the original ones have been unavailable for more than 5 years

Thanks,
thats great info.
Best wait for the stock to come in and order then.

Bit anxious about messing with the linkage, its just right.
