Hi All
I have just replaced my golf 1.9td in my t25 doka with an Audi 1.9td. Except for an engine mounting bracket it's been fairly straightforward. However I've just tried to start it and whilst it fires, it only runs for 10 secs and then dies. The fuel line is dry - think it was firing on diesel left in the pump from before installation. How to I get it to draw the fuel through? Tried cranking and no joy. thanks Mike
How do you prime an AAZ diesel pump?

I don't know the detail of the AAZ pump, but the principle for all diesels is approximately the same.
1. Suck fuel up into the pump till it's full. There should be a nipple on the return connection on the pump.
2. Slacken at least 3 injector pipe nuts then crank on full throttle with ignition on till fuel with no bubbles comes out.
3. Tighten injector nuts and engine should start.
Take a look at this thread, with slightly more detail. [E D I T]Sorry original link was wrong. Try this one viewtopic.php?f=37&t=175808 [/E D I T]
In any case make sure the braided leak off pipes between the injectors are OK.

fit a primer bulb in the fuel line close to the pump, maybe where you already have that connector. Euro do them, or maybe try Halfords tomorrow if youre in a rush. just make sure its the right way round as they have a one way valve in them

1,check there is enough fuel in tank
2 check fuel lines are tight
3 check pipes are correct way around
4 check out banjo bolt is in out position at rear of pump, has out engraved on it
5 undo injector pipes til loose
6 check you have 12 v at the stop solinoid and it clicks when ign is turned on
7 crank for 20 seconds and you should have fuel coming out of pipes
8 check 12 v at heater plugs
9 tighten fuel pipes
10 turn key wait for glowplug light to go out then start
