I'm new here and getting all excited about fetching
on Friday
So our first plan in to get an LPG conversion for her. She a 1.9 petrol and I just wondered if anyone else has the same with LPG and how you get on with it.
It's grand..........especially now it's less than half price - if you decide to do it, do it straightaway, and you'll start to recoup your outlay straightaway......
We get virtually the same mileage as petrol for our 1.9 - varies between around 18 in traffic jams to 23 on the motorway.......
Our 1.9DG hi-top camper has a 65 litre terroidal (upright) tank and we can fit between 48.5 and 52.5 litres of gas in,depending on the weather. On a motorway run at a steady 65 - 70mph we got 207 miles on that 50 litres. Commuting round the Peak District which is very up hill and down dale I get 180ish to the tank. Ours is still running on the set-up that Steve Shaw (top bloke !!) left it in,insignificant power loss from petrol (if any at all) but boy is it worth it financially! AND you meet a totally nicer class of person at the LPG pump ... so much less grumpier
We're back with "Gromit" our new favourite toy loads of miles done travelling back from the black forest - well he drove and I drove the car so I have my first trip tonight when we arrived back and took the dogs out to the park. I told Matt I was moving in and he pulled a face at me
So now for the tank I just need to give Steve the dimesions and he can let me know when we are abel to get it done. Matt winced at putting £20 in when we arrived at Dover and the gauge didn't move! So the sooner the better
AshnMatt.
Go for the 65ltr upright torroidal in the wardrobe, so much easier to fit and bigger than you can get under the bed of a Joker! If you hurry! You might get it done before the end of the month
Thanks everyone. we were out with the tape measure last night so it has to be the 65lt in the wardrobe as we have the oberwatsit heater in the seat space and it takes up too much of the length so the tanks wouldn't fit anyway.
Matt emailed Steve so all we do now is hope I can find a right hand tail light so we can have the foglight on the right side (or both) and get the MPH face for the MOT otherwise we're going nowhere
