1.6TD JX Rebuild

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has some advice on the setting up the timing on my 1.6 JX please before I stick the lump back in my van.
The garage I had the engine at while it was being re-con'd closed down while the work was getting done. I got most of the engine back but the fuel pump and cam belt were left off.
I've been searching for the Peter Russek manual for the engine settings but would greatly appreciate some first had advice please.

Have you got the VW Service manuals for the JX? If not then I can send you a link for those as PDFs.
