The roof on my Devon is rotten around the hinges, and the two rear have popped off. Does anyone know where i can take it in the West Mids for sorting?? Can i move the hinges along to a solid part of the roof and reattach? sorry, i'm a noob!

hi noob! welcome! what is rotten? the firbe glass or the tin roof?? if it's the tin the easiest solution is to remove all three hinges grind out any rotten tin and weld a plate over the holes, waxoyl and then replace the hinges on to the plates! as for someone that can do this in your area i don't know! hope this helps tho!

Hi Dave,Its the tin roof hat is rotten, welding means disturbing the interior, do i have an alternative like moving the hinges and pop riveting them back on?

why does welding involve disturbing the interior?? weld the plate on the outside! it shouldn't cause any bother to the inside!

i was told that to weld the roof, the interior had to come out along the roofline, as it may catch fire! Do you know of anywhere i could go to that would sort that out for me? i really need to get camping soon.

can't reccomend wnywhere i'm affraid! if it was me i'd look for some one with a welder, leaving all the interior in place i'd weld the plates on but have someone on the inside with a co2 extinguisher just to be on the safer side! hope you get it sorted!
