Pop-top rubber seal sticking to van roof

Post by Pootle »

The seal on my pop-top is sticking to the roof (outside) when I try to raise it.

What can I put on the rubber to prevent it sticking?

Rub a bit of grease on them. Not loads so it looks like a tightly packed bearing, but just rub some into the rubber. Or maybe use vaseline. You could also wax the van where the rubber sits so that it's a bit slippy and the rubber can't stick to it.
