Just got phone with enough memory for tapatalk so can now easily post a picture or two. Here's the engine in our recently purchased 89 Holdsworth Villa. Recon with about 10k on. Got workshop receipt but it's vague on source, was £2.5k though.
Bog standard DG ( after market fuel pump) with a couple of things wrong I can see.
There is an extra in like plastic fuel filter on the RHS get rid of it it should not be there and is a hazard being thin plastic by a hot engine.
The one way valve on the fuel return should be behind the bulkhead again because its plastic.
some other tips
keep an eye on the large metal cooling pipe on the left they rust through
make sure your coolant level sensor works pull connector off bottle and light should go on.
loosing yoir coolant often results in engine death and level sensor is often the only warning.

Yep, like Paul says, a standard late system DG ... you really need to bin the extra petrol filter , there should only be one near the tank outlet on the offside behind the tank. Also as and when one pipe or the waterpump goes it is a good idea to replace the steel pipes with the stainless ones available from Brickwerks ... fit the best and forget ever replacing them again.

clips on oil breather hose and oil stain on pancake says oil blown up.from crank case to me might be nothing but worth a look to see if there is excessive oil in pancake or joiner hose
