Coolant leaks that just won't go away

Getting sick of this. Renewed the low coolant sensor/switch and seal because it had cracked in the o-ring groove.
Renewed the dalek cap not long before (also cracked behind the seal)
New one still leaks. I think its a fault with the Meyle header tanks, the sensor seems to screw down much too far and the seal doesn't really "seat"
Yes I shopped at BW, I nearly always do.
Thoughts?

Beat me to it. Just rapped my plug last night. Got to love it. I thought marriage was going to be hard to keep on top of instead of leaky pipes [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

The threads on the sensor/probe have two flats on molding, no amount of tape will seal that.
I have, in desperation, bonded in a sensor with Tiger Seal on another van before now (still leak free!) but it's not right.

In that case a fibre washer should sort it. Any decent plumbers merchant should have a good selection.

Same here but 10 years ago and on an OEM tank, it's was the new sensor.
I filed the corners off the new sensor moulded 'nut' on the tank side so that it sat down on the seal.

Had a similar issue - a wee smear of plumbers silicon grease allowed the washer to bed down smoothly without over tightening. The brand I used was Black Swan.

I had the same problem when I renewed the sensor. Also used a fibre washer I had knocking about.

Not sure if Dirko Sealing compound would work with a washer? I used it on leaks on my other vehicle and it really bonds.

The O-ring should do its job, must be the header tank. Unless of course the engine has popped its cork and is pressurizing the system, but all spark plugs look ok.
No mayo in the cam box.
It slowly pushes coolant out, but doesnt draw from the catch tank as it cools down.

Is that confirmation that it's easier to draw air past the seal than suck water from the catch tank.

Beginning to look as though the replacement tanks are unsuitable for their purpose - you have two repair methods on offer

Ive just fitted a replacement tank from Brickwerks , not had any leaks using old o ring and new cap.
