Hey up,
guess there is a smidge of project creep coming in to play here - didn't this start as a repair to a few roofing slate scars?
Mine's goign infor a complete body job so where will that end up on this scale?
Guess we won't be seeing you at Dubfreeze then?

ha ha erm well . . .

it started with a dozy truck driver opening his door on front panel just above aerial mount. His firm bunged me £320 to get it repaired

then the roof tile incident other week

which my parents are kindly donating a couple hundred quid for

The bodyshop's one we use at work n put £xxxxxxx amount of work through each year

So he's quoted £600 + panels if any needed (none so far). It's not a lot of cash for a full spray so we'll see how it turns out. I've seen a bay that he did last year which bagged a prize at one of the shows so fingers crossed

Oh, and I've had to pay for windows out, new screen seal, stickers, tail gate . . .erm . . it's mounting up isn't it ha ha ha

Hope they do your seams properly... I had my previous van sprayed for £850 a couple of years back. Part way through the job it was almost down to bare metal all over and looked great when I got it back, yet rust was reappearing in the seams after less than 12 months. Being white didn't help!

To be honest there was very little rust anywhere on the van, the only seam showing a glimmer of rust was the n/s back corner (as in pics) so he has gone to town on that bit.

At end of day, I haven't got £3000 to spend on a proper proper paint job, and I'm highly unlikely to in the forseeable future.

I'm only having this done now because I'll only have to pay about £150 from my own pocket, so if it lasts five years and stops that back corner getting worse I'll be well chuffed.

Do bear in mind that although it's a 'cheap' job, this guy paints brand new £80,000 + Volvo trucks for where I work (Volvo truck main dealer). Work trust him, I reckon I can

yeh, knew that'd happen, was planning on buying new bumpers etc but really skint at minute.

Lot of dust on wheels & arches too, doesn't help.
