wishbone mount corrosion

Post by PhilXXJ »

After a lot of squeeking from front suspension, decided to replace upper wishbone bushes. After removing the wishbones, noticed quit a bit of corrosion around where the 'sleeve' is mounted which the long bolt passes through. Has anyone else had this problem or is there a 'repair' panel available? have searched threads here and looked through suspension components on brickyard, jk etc but cant find anything :?

Remember that iron oxide takes up around 10x the volume of the parent metal from which it derives.

Thanks i chipped/scraped away as much of the 'iron oxide' as poss (not easy around the back using mirror/torch /chisel) anyway not as bad as i thought although metal is not quite as thick as it used to be! couple of coats of aquasteel and fitted the new wishbones.
