leaky autohomes Kamper roof

My roof hasn't let a drop in ever, now it seems to pour in, any tips on the likely culprits? There seems to be some coming in around the skylight, but it looks like the whole front half is soaking it up

Any pointers gratefully appreciated

Skylight for definate. That's the same problem I've had with my autohomes hightop campervan.

Replace the seal on the poptop and see if it still leaks first.

Strip out the carpet, beds and wooden bed frames in the roof and let them dry out completely.

After you have stripped out the roof interior, check everywhere inside the roof for rust, etc. Use a fan heater to dry out the roof (which takes ages).

Also check the sealant around the skylight and at the bottom of the roof. If it looks knackered (like mine does) then get the old sealer off and reseal it. Do this after the weather has been dry for a few days.

Use white PU seal to reseal the skylight and roof. Always use very old clothes and gloves when dealing with PU seal and use strips of cardboard as a tool to force the sealer inwards as quickly as possible. PU seal hardens fairly quickly (approx 20 minutes).

The only thing I don't know at the moment is how to separate the hightop from the rest of the campervan.

If PU seal does get onto your skin, then immediately wash it out with swarfega/washing up liquid and hot water. If left for more than 1/4 hour it won't come off your skin at all, even with a knife.

Just spent a while on the roof, skylight seal gone, as I don't currently have one, I've resealed it with clear silicone. I'm foing to make a new seal and then refit it when it's a bit drier, but at least it'll stop it for now.

Silicone sealant is a big no no !!! It will work for a very short period of time.

I would replace that with PU seal as soon and as quickly as possible !!
