Blue high beam light comes on when low beam is activated

Blue high beam light comes on when low beam is activated, switch to high beam and the blue light goes out. Basically it is doing the opposite to what it should.

Ist stage click on the light switch and the side lights work but the blue high beam light come on

Read a lot of posts but electrics are difficult for me being colour blind and the 30yr old + colours dont help.

The high beam indexation is controlled by the n/s headlight, is it actually working correctly ? Check !
If it is, I suspect you have Earth issue , possibly also the 14pin connection to the dash clocks loose , dirty or damaged ?
Above your right knee as you sit in the seat , give it a jiggle !

Cheers Steve I've checked those connections and I've check the crown earths.
Can you tell me if there are any other Earth's on the dash I should be looking for please

Has this van got the early torpedo fuses or the late blade fuses?

You'll need someone to see the colours.
Check the main beam warning lamp blue/white wire is connected correctly to fuses 5 or 6 which has the main beam white wires, not to fuses 3 or 4 the low beam yellow wires.

I was going to post a photo but for some reason I can't them to load.

Right so I've located the blue wire and I've tried it in every configuration but it's still coming on on low Beam but if I move the blue wire a long to fuse number three all is well but there is no spade to connect too.quite what's going on I don't know

I think the fuse box has had the wires for the headlamps fitted the wrong way round, fuse 3&4 should be yellow wires fuse 5&6 white wires and the blue/white for the main beam telltale.

Can you put a picture up of the top of the fusebox?

Hi Herb I understand the forum is having troubles with photos so hopefully you won't go off the boil and as soon as it's fixed I can send the photos but the only place the whole system with the blue light seems to work correct is when I touch it to the yellow wires in number three
