How to fit a passenger bench seat?

Post by Bensdad »

Could someone advise how a passenger bench seat is attached in the front?
Does it just bolt in and cantilever over the edge or is it supported underneath?
Does it have to braced from behind and how is this achieved without a bulkhead?

Any advice gratefully received to accommodate rapidly expanding family.

if it is a standard 2 seater from another van then it just slides onto the standard seat rails and does a bit of adjustment forwards and backwards. No fancy tools or welding etc required

Hi,
we did this in our 7 seater to make it 8....

if there is no bulkhead you I think you need a bracing bar, as all the cab seats I have seen fix to bulkhead or bar, and cannot slide forward and backwards. Funny enough, I have got one, and the double seat, for sale if you are interested.....

they are in brown, bit worse for wear, but do the job!

bar fixes with two self tapping screws.

Can send photos if interested
