Hello All,
We have just purchased our first Westy - 1990 VW Westfalia Atlantic Hightop Vanagon - and are preparing for a European driving tour.
We need to buy a Spare Bulb and Fuse Kit. We have been told that our bulbs are same a VW Transporter of same year (this advice came from Halfords who sell a spare bulb Kit 'Number 25' for Transporters). Any idea if this is correct? We also have no idea what types of spare fuses we need!?
If anyone can help advise we would be really grateful. We are new to the VW Camper Community and just learning the ropes!!!
Thanks in advance
J & B

1990 has blade fuses, pull the fusebox cover off and you will see what tou need, deffo, 10, 15 and 30A
As for bulbs H4 headlight bulb
if I remember rear bulbs are all 21w single pin except tail light which is 10W single pin
I'd but single bulbs and fuse packs myself

Re: Which Spare Bulb and Fuse Kit?
The best full listing of T3 bulbs I know of, was on Baxters old site, now gone. However thanks to the 'web archive' still available:
https://web-beta.archive.org/web/200902 ... /bulbs.htm
Any decent motor factor should be able to supply all the bulbs based on the standard 'bulb #', in the rightmost column. Ignore the 'R2' bulbs, a late euro van uses H4 headlamp bulbs, and 55W H3 for the inner squares (if fitted).
The fuses are standard 'ATO' type, and a T3 will have 10A,15A,20A,30A.
Regarding kits, back in the day, Hella used to do a nice plastic box containing all the typical bulbs and fuses on a VW of the period (excepting the H3).
The best bulb kit to get now, is probably the one sold by Brickwerks.
Unsurprisingly..
