Re: electronic ignition
All petrol t3s (except the earliest air-colds) have electronic ignition as standard.

Thanks for that, think I'll just buy a new coil and see if that solves problem I would rather keep original set up anyway.

Re: electronic ignition
When I pull off it hesitates as if it's cut out then it goes and I can feel it holding back as if not enough power, then it goes great for a bit then trouble again.it's well maintained tho serviced regular etc.

Re: electronic ignition
What makes you think it's electrical?
Could be fuel related also, you say regularly maintained, a lead or cap can fail at any time however new.
When was the fuel filter last changed, is that blocked, if so pennies to buy.
Process of elimination really, if you have any old known working caps, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm swap them out one at a time or just buy some new ones but swap one thing at a time.
Clean the carb out for starters and once this is done if no better get back on here.

Re: electronic ignition
Don't know if it's electrical just clutching at straws really, plugs, leads, rotor arm air and fuel filters replaced beginning of year ,have ordered new ones to see if it solves problem.Don't really want to touch carb ,have found a company on line who want £145 to recon it ,that's my next option.

Re: electronic ignition
Hesitation can be caused by the following I have found.
Transfer jet blocked
Accelerator pump diaphragm worn or split
Not enough metered fuel in the pump
Air leak on the induction side.
Incorrect mixture
If you accelerate slowly does it still hesitate?
