how much for clutch work?

Post by sarahandthebear »

we are looking at a van and we can hear there is clutch problems or at least thats what we think.

the clutch doesn't bite until its at its limit and even touching the accelorator and your reving up to high heaven gear box was fighting us a bit when it came to 1st and reversing it was a battle we are just trying to see what worse case scenario would cost us if anyone knows

thanks everyone

A decent clutch is about £100 plus the labour cost of fitting it. The latter depends upon the garage you use and where you live. Also with an air cooled it would be a good idea to replace the clutch cable too. Order the parts from Brickwerks for best quality.

thank you Ralf85 for your help we did not buy the van in the end as it had a few more problems then just the clutch, wheel bearing was awful could drown out any conversation and the sliding door had so much rust on the bottom it could be used as a drainage hole and to top it off the guy wanted £4000
