Hi all,
Need a piece of advise. My sink water tap stopped working. I've checked the fuses and the pump and they seem OK. Going through a few posts it seems that the micro switch needs some cleaning. However, not sure how to get to it without breaking something. Would appreciate your help. Please see attached.

Re: Sink tap micro switch
Without a picture of the switch I can't help but what I did was to fit a relay so that the micro switch doesn't have to carry the " high"current needed to power the water pump .

Re: Sink tap micro switch
Looks like an non descriptive tap fitted to a Westfalia kitchen unit? if so access by pushing back the nylon draw stoppers and removing the top drawer. Its not easy but the bottom of the tap and microswitch can be detached from underneath, the microswitch itself is a standard part available from Maplins/RS components etc.
However, in my experience the small brass plunger that 'should' move to operate the lever on the microswitch, gets stuck...requires tap dis-assembly, cleaning, greasing and re-assembly. The microswitch also has a brass adjusting rod which may need tweaking to get the microswitch to 'click' withing the prescribed half turn from the off position.
