GSF Recon Brake Calipers

Post by Pickles »

My front Brake Calipers on my Van have started to drag have done 180K.

I phoned VAG for a price for a rebuild lit for the ATE caliper a not too expensive £10.50 per side only trouble is there was only one kit for one side in the Country. Not much good.

I went to GSF and they do rebuilt items for approx £50 exchange only trouble is are they any good.

The box says Dan Brakes on, I assume they are rebuilt in the UK.

But where do they get the Seals from (China ?) there were no numbers on the seals and they didn't look like German quality .

Any one know if they are any good

Or where can I get German VAG rebuild kits from

if the brakes are only dragging and not leaking then it`s probably rust buildup and not the seals. best to strip and clean the pistons or replace. I may have a contact which may list the seals, but what year van? single or twin cylinder calipers. I`ll ask them next week if they have any. They are all made in the uk and i have never had any problems with there stuff in the past.
