advice re vw transporter 78 engine

i have a 1989 vw transporter 78 and a head stud has sheered off in the engine? Do I have to find a replacement engine or is there a way of repairing it ?

if you are referring to a head bolt rather than an exhaust stud, then you need to take it to someone professional to stahnd the best chance of success, but it maybe cheaper , quicker and easier to replace the engine....
where in the world are you ?

Head studs can be removed but it's not easy.
how far down has it snapped?
