Idling issue
Hi all,
I recently bought a VW T25 and it is having problems idling. It will start, rev and then cut out. I can keep it stable by revving but it will cut out as soon as my foot is off of the accelerator - sometimes after driving it will become stable in idling.
I've checked the idle control switch and can hear the clicks and tested it using a fluke.
Therefore I think it's either the Idle control stabilisation unit or the Idle air stabiliser valve.
My question is, rather than buy these parts at gamble as to which is the problem, is there a way in which I can test these to check if it is faulty?

It would help if you put your engine type in your signature.

Re: Idling issue
and where are you?
somebody local may be able to help by lending you parts
I think stabiliser can be bypassed by connecting plug and socket directly, at least I have read that.

I live in Paderborn in Germany, flying back from Thailand on Sunday. If there is anybody local that'd be great!
Would save me a couple of tanks of fuel
I'll also buy you a crate!

Re: Idling issue
I've managed to find the problem, i think, my Haynes manual says to feel the Idle Control Valve for vibration; it doesn't vibrate. I've also measured the resistance across the valve as per the manual audit's not showing as prescribed.
Therefore I need to get a new one - but I'm struggling to find one on the internet for sale!! Everywhere I look it's sold out or no longer available... Can anyone help, has anyone else had this problem in finding a part??
It's a VW t25 1988 Caravelle. 2.1 WB petrol.
I think this is the part number too 025-906-457A.
This is the only one i can find and they've sold out; https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/auxilliary ... ction.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
