Headlight gremlin

Post by porthyt »

Hi,

I have a weird electrical oddity. It started playing up and now happens every time but my dash binnacle lights won't come on when I turn my lights on. The interior lighter socket lights up but apart from that it's all dark. The weird ting is that it's only when I switch the engine on i.e. Turn lights on with no ignition on and exterior and binnacle lights on and then as soon as turn the key the exterior stay on but the binnacle lights turn off.

I've wiggled the switch and had a route around but not sure if that's a relay or an earth problem?

Cheers
Josh

More likely an earth issue. Sounds like the lights are finding an earth through the ignition circuit until the ignition is switched on.

So would it be earthed behind the glovebox?

Thanks
Josh

Ps. Had to drop the fuel tank twice and extend that pipe to get it fitted.
