You need to take a pic at a different angle - it is 3 letters starting with D. Can only hazard a guess at the other two....... maybe F3????

It has R6657 stamped on to the base lip which when Googled some else says its "looks almost identical to weber". Question still remains which rebuild kit do I buy?

With that information you are soon led to Holley - licensed by Weber to produce in Italy and the Weber gaskets are identical. Jetting may be different. Looks like it was used on Bugs and Beetles in the 60's / 70's era.

Possibly this kit - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-76-CARB-KI ... 0814791581

I am sure that I am not the only one who can Google!
