Westfalia water tank wiring help

Post by paintedpilgrim »

Hi guys, I've got the water tank but that's about it, I've done loads of searching the forums and from what I can gather there should be a little black box that goes in the middle cupboard, this controls the level sensor I imagine?
So I have a few questions
Do I need the black box and what does it do?
Is there a level sensor that goes inside the tank or does it just work off the metal thingys in the side?
Brickwerks and CVC both only sell the the submersible pump but I don't have a hole in the top of the tank for the wire to come through like some pics I've found, did mine possibly have an inline pump and is this a better option anyway?
Cheers Richard

Have you got the loom? The wires from the water tank go to the panel above the fridge/cooker where there's a water & leisure battery level indicator light. The tank wiring looks like this.

You've got the old type watertank. The sensor are on the side 3 sensors for 3 indications on your level indicator.

Thanks for the pictures. I see you have the hole for the electric cables and an extra outlet on top that I don't have! I ha e the earlier tank do I? Does that mean I need to use an inline pump with it?
I have the wiring loom from the back of the indicator panel but it's been cut off at the back of the fridge unit and I don't have the rest. Do you have a little black box in that middle cupboard that those wires to the tank come out from?

Just looked closely at the picture and I can make out the edge of the black box, I'm missing this. I imagine it's not a part I can buy off the shelf anywhere!?

Hmmm, I'm sure you'll struggle to find one but you never know.
