Re: Fitting aaz
In my experience you can.. You need to clock the turbo so the drain is as close to bottom as possible. You then have to make a custom exhaust also... Easy if you have a welder.. Not if you don't. My engine was out of a fwd Passat. But I think different donor vehicles have different manifolds so .... !
Re: Fitting aaz
Does it bolt to the manifold with 3 or 4 bolts? The k03 is 3 bolts and the housing is small enough to fit between the engine and engine mount bars the k14 will not.
I am currently running an AAZ engine with a tdi exhaust manifold and a gt1549 turbo from a rover, any setup other than the jx setup will require modifications to the engine mount to clear the turbo.
Regardless of which turbo you run your need to make sure that the turbo oil drain is at the 6 o'clock position and that you have adequate drop on the oil drain otherwise you run the risk of runaway.

Re: Fitting aaz
Thanks for your help on this guys, to make life easy I think I will stick to rigging it up to the jx manifold and turbo... just wondering if the turbo from the AAZ would give it a bit more ummphhh.....
