Leaking Tailgate

Post by Chardy »

Hello - I was wondering if anybody has any idea on a leak i have , just inside the back door in the top right hand corner.
It's about 3 inches down from the rubber seal inside the door, on the crease of the corner joint, on the start of the roof section, if that makes any sense.
I have pulled away the carpet that's stuck on up this area (It's a Devon Eurovette hi-top ).
My thoughts are that it might be coming in around the top of the rubber door seal and making it's way down that internal channel , then out of this join.
If anybody knows of this problem or if it's a common leaking point , can they please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

sounds like same place as myself...got one on each side, theres a crease on "roof" with a small gap and water comes in, soaking into wall coverings. Assumed it is coming from my 25 years old hitop seals. used Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure round old sealant and it seams to have stopped leak on one side and almost stopped on other. Gonna try another application today on leaking side...its against a neighbours fence so its hard to get to so first try may have been a bit hit and miss!

Wtaer can also get 'into' the door panel through the rubber grommet/tube thingy that the wires go inside, top right (on mine anyway). then when the tailgate is opened, it pours out of the slots down the bottom (all over me if I've forgotten to do a quick sidestep)
