Rotor Arms on 2ltr CU

Post by speleobod »

just replaced my dizzy cap and leads and the rotor arm that VAG supplied isn't like then RI Bosch type that was fitted originally, the one with a spring limiter thing in it.

Replaced it with bog standard rotor that was provided with the cap and it runs fine...BUT ... there must be a reason for the spring and will I do some damage if I dont replace the rotor with the particular type like Mr Haynes in his manual says I should?
Distant cousins...Theres a limited supply,
We're down to the dozens and this is why...

I guess it just means your rev limiter wont work! So if you floor it, the engine can over rev causing damage if over reving for a long period,
More is less, stay pure, stay poor.
