Captain Buddy Seat

Post by crazyhorse »

Hi all,

Quick question, how easy is it to remove my passenger seat and put a Captain seat in??? Tried looking for answers. Under the seat I have a metal square which the runners sit on top, on the pics of the t25 buddy seats i have seen there is a carpeted square does this sit on top of the metal box?? Sorry if this question sounds dumb.

Thanks

Captain seats and buddy seats are two different things. Not sure if you are describing a seat box or a swivel base.A picture would help a lot.

That is not a captains seat it is a buddy seat.It may be on a swivel. They are for behind one of the front seats. Not for the front. You would have to add a seat belt and a way of securing it to your van.

If it's a vw t3/t25 captains seat or has t3/t25 runners, you just remove yours and the captains seat is a straight swap.Worth noting when you slide the seat to remove it it will not come off the runners completely. You need to lift this up first..

If you want to it is not difficult to fit armrests from a VW Sharan or a F*rd Galaxy (they seem to be readily available at breakers yards & only held on by an allen screw) to an ordinary VW seat turning it into a Captains seat. You just need to lift the back rest cover, make a couple of blocks from aluminium to space it out & then bolt your armrest to the block.
