My starter battery has finally given up the ghost I can just about read the specs it says 065 type and I think it says 549 CCA I can't read the correct amp hours on it anyone know what they should be as standard?
would this do a Bosch type075 74 AH and looks like it's 750CCA will an extra 200CCA damage anything?

I think the CC Amps rating is the cold test current. The battery will only produce this current if there is a demand on it from the electrics that are attached.
Personally, I would buy the highest rated CCA and Ah that I could afford. (Provided it was the right size for the battery location)

Thats an expensive battery. I'm pretty sure I paid less than £70 about a year ago for the biggest bosch silver that would fit.

From Germany, 2 year warranty!...very expensive as well.
Personally I would go for an type 096 which is even bigger,. This Varta is better and with a 5 year warranty.
Varta Silver..just remember that these newer battery types may struggle to fully charge on original 13.90 - 14.2 regulators if they are on the lower side (below 14 volts) most replacements are now set closer to 14.5 volts as the older traditional lead/acid batteries are now history.

Thanks Martin yes I found one for 60 inc VAT from Tanya Batteries. Saved enough for 300 miles of fuel which is half way to the isle of skye wohoo!
