Bodywork

Post by Drsilly »

Hi,
New to the forum but I've owned my van for years as a daily driver!
Serviced at jacks in London and they did some of the replacement panels in the pics last year. Mechanically it is sorted by them ... I think. I have no technical ability whatsoever but MOT done again and they must have replaced most of the underneath and the engine is rebuilt over the last few years.
Want to sort the bodywork and interior completely now.
Recommendations at who or where I could ask would be appreciated as jacks seem expensive and have a wait time of over six months.
Cheers :D

that's a serious hole in the front panel, it must fill up with water every time it rains

I think you are going to have to tackle one bit at a time if it's a daily driver.

I'd start by damage limitation, like a day with a wire wheel in a battery drill, 0.5L of vactan and some gaffer tape, stop the rust and stop the water getting in.

Then tackle each bit starting with the worst.

I go around my van every year, some times twice a year taking off any rust, including underneath then treating with 2 coats of vactan as a minimum it slows the rust down massively.
