So last year I won an ebay auction for a genuine VW swivel base which I fitted this summer with my Sab seats. Unfortunately there seems to be a fair bit of play in the seat from the swivel mechanism.
Video showing play in the seat base:

I looked about online and found you can buy (although expensive) nylon type bushings.
However my seat does not seem to have the recesses for them:
Am I missing something here? Is there a way I can make my seats less wobbly as in the video? Would this fail an MOT?

Yes I took it apart to fit and added grease.
Do all models have the nylon fixings? I can't see how they would fit to mine?

Hi,
Try tightening up the 4 M8 bolts slightly, I it worked for me when the seat was too tight to turn. Only needs to be done up a little at a time

Doesnt look right, the round middle section should have 4 flat areas at the edge with 2 holes to locate the smaller bushings.

Can anyone else confirm that this is not a VW base? Was their a few versions?
It doesn't have a hole cut out at the rear either I see in pictures.

Its a vw swivel base, but it looks like the early T2 base . The later ones were updated with the bushings . Perhaps you could modify it to take the nylon guides, flatten the 4 areas and drill 2 holes to take the top guides and for the larger lower guides you may only need to drill the holes for the guides to press into. Take it apart and take measurements , circle diameter and width of lower channel the guides sit in.
