Carb advice please, dellorto 36drla or standard,1980 2ltr

Post by horizontal kipper »

the standard carbs are shot on my 1980 typ 25 2ltr westy joker, was thinking of putting on a pair of dellorto 36drla i got given a few years back. they came with a service kit but no manifolds or linkage also the main jet stacks are missing. what jet sizes etc would be best to suit this engine for every day driving. would it benifit me using these carbs or getting my standard ones rebuilt.

Thanks

If you want a quicker, more economical van and a nicer sounding engine then fit the dells.

dell's

Post by west E »

i've just bought a pair of dell's on ebay, the best linkage i have been told is the cb stuff. You can also buy a dellorto manual which explains how to service and setup your dells on ebay of eurocarb. Its called dellorto superperfomance manual, its about £12 quidand weel worth the money. One thing you will need to do is have vacuum take off's fiited into the inlet manifolds too connect your brake servo vacuum pipes too. Not fitted mine yet or ordered my linkage i'll let you know how it goes. :D

cheers

if you can't fix it have a drink.
