Inner Sill, MOT, Recommendations....cheer me up!

Post by randamonia »

So diligently changing brake pipes this weekend for the MOT and after poking about a bit, experienced that awful feeling of my finger disappearing through body work.

The offside inner sill, around where the fridge vent is has very much gone. Doesn't 'appear' to be all the way along but had to stop poking and get other jobs done....... The outer sill 'seems' ok and the other side is fine.....looks like the fridge has been helping things along

Difficult i know based on a couple of pics but the is MOT due in 2 weeks....is it even worth putting it through? I know on some vehicles the sills are everything structurally but not on others...what's the the case with the T25?
I'm wanting to get this sorted quickly but it would be good not to have to rush to get it done for the MOT.

The other question, any recommendations in the bucks, beds area for someone to sort this? Don't mind travelling to get it done properly.

Thanks for reading my woes....read the other technical forums for more :-)

Depends on the tester, mine says it is not structural and puts it as an advisory.

Thanks Kit. That's what I'm hoping. Going to get the rot sorted but want to get the right place to do it.
Cheers

All you need to know. Mind you, whether deemed within a prescribed area or not, it can weaken an area that sustains an impact.

Thanks for that!

I'm definitely looking to get it sorted ASAP just trying to sort out logistics of getting it sorted in the next 2 weeks before the MOT runs out. I can't believe how quickly the rust took hold

I've had a quote for £225-250 depending on what they find.......it's not a VW specialist but come recommended. Does this sound reasonable?
